Structure, Usage, and Meaning of Japanese Conditional Sentences “to”, “tara”, “ba”, and “nara” in Japanese Spoken Language: A Study Case of Dr. Stone Animation

This study aims to analyze the structure, usage, and meaning of Japanese conditional sentences (jouken hyougen) with patterns “to”, “tara”, “ba”, “nara” in spoken language. By using qualitative methods, this is collecting conversational data taken from Animation Dr. Stone. The form were analyzed based on their meaning. results found that Stone animation have a structure tends be attached verb noun predicates. In languages Stone, there also some different structures change predicate other than usual mentioned textbooks. Further, sentence “to” Stone’s used express general conditions or knowledge known by speakers, speech partners, public. On hand, may occur are assumed will speaker. Regarding animation, has naturally occurring phenomena such as chemical reactions physics, while conjecture assumption, awareness perception, suggestion.
